Mentors Make Great People Possible
UpLink connects students with mentors in METS-related careers through YouthFriends, a locally based, nationally recognized leader in school-based mentoring. YouthFriends provides valuable opportunities for professionals to mentor students for one hour a week in area elementary, middle and high schools—or serve as e-mentors.
Visit the YouthFriends home page at youthfriends.org.
Now in its twelfth year, YouthFriends has connected more than 198,000 students with more than 27,000 mentors throughout Greater Kansas City. One of the keys to YouthFriends success is the dedication and commitment of more than 100 employer and organizational partners.
YouthFriends research shows that mentoring just one hour a week in schools changes lives and positively influences academic success.
Leveraging its proven system of tools, training and technology, YouthFriends connected 500 METS professionals with mentoring opportunities during UpLink’s pilot year.
